Part-Time Promotions Assistant


WJAS-AM 1320 is looking for qualified part time applicants to set up live remote broadcasts and to staff station and community events. Applicants should be adept at setting up and tearing down audio equipment, be able to erect the station's broadcast canopy, and handle the station's inflatable. They should be upbeat, personable, and communicate well with the listening public. This position pays $7.50 per hour. Applicants must be licensed drivers in good standing, as they will be responsible for driving station vehicles to and from appearances. Finalists for this position will be subject to a background check.

Internship Position

Renda Broadcasting has an immediate position open in our Internship department. Each intern will be scheduled for approximately 16 flexible hours per week during the semester. Each semester will consist of a 13-week time period during the spring, summer, fall and winter.

Intern responsibilities include: Assisting with preparation and research for upcoming events, assisting on promotional events with equipment set-up and tear-down, interacting with listeners, clients and employees on various levels, station database up-keep, promotional research of competing radio stations in the Pittsburgh market, general clerical duties, and assistance in departments other then promotions when opportunities are available and upon approval of the intern's supervisor.

The intern's supervisor will handle intern evaluations. Interns will be evaluated just as would a paid employee. The evaluation will include punctuality, dependability, performance, and performance after instruction, attitude, and ability to complete tasks and appearance.
