The city of Pittsburgh is on edge when a group of steelworkers are dying from a mysterious phenomenon known as the death ingot. When a respected resident and an eager investigative reporter try to uncover the truth behind the ingot, they are faced with life-threatening challenges.
“The Death Ingot” uncovers the demise of a powerful “Steel Industry”. How and why it was allowed to happen. Imported ingots from a suffering economy in Japan; could that have been the cause? Through culpable manipulation across three continents with mob-type individuals, steel magnates, labor unions, financial brokers and governments all maneuvering to gain wealth, emerges the rebirth of the “Steel City” of today.
Ernesto Fagnilli is a native “Oaklander”. His father was an Italian immigrant that worked in the steel mills and had fallen prey to the dreaded Death Ingot. This is his theory as to what took place within the “Steel City” at that time.
