You know I thought it was too good to be true. But Alaska really does have it all! Seals, Humpback whales and the historic ports of Ketchikan and Juneau! A bunch of WJAS listeners, Battle and I booked passage with Your Man Tours for a breath taking cruise up Alaska's magnificent inside passage. Probably most heart thumping for me was anxiously watching the gutsy captain of our cruise ship, the Norwegian Star, veeerrrry carefully pick his way past scores of mini icebergs as we approached the massive Sawyer Glacier. My hubby Battle braved whipping winds topside to capture the event on film. Several WJAS listeners and I sat on the edge of our seats taking in all the action in the ship's glass encased pub one deck below.

Did I mention how much fun our Pittsburgh group was? I don't think I'll quickly forget Janie's reaction to the HUGE Humpbacks as they were bubble net feeding in the bay. Our little excursion boat quickly kicked into reverse when about 14 of these massive animals breached the water's surface about a hundred yards directly in front of us!

Battle says our multiple visits with Joe, Diana, Daria, Mishel, Janie, Peter, Irene and all the other wonderful WJAS listeners who joined us...has made our time in Alaska a memory we will long treasure. Such a bright man!
