The Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western PA invites all dog lovers to enjoy a fun day together at South Park on Sunday, October 14th 2012 for the 4th Annual Pooch Parade & Picnic. This family-friendly event features a one mile fun walk on a paved trail beginning at the Dog Park at South Park. All registered participants will receive morning refreshments, a goody bag, a sweatshirt, and a bandana for their dog. The event features a costume contest with prizes for best dog and best dog/owner combo costumes. There will be fabulous raffles of gift baskets, Steeler tickets and a Myrtle Beach vacation. A variety of vendors will be on hand to provide information and products of interest to dog lovers. Registration begins at 9:00 am, the “Pooch Parade” begins at 10:00 am, followed by a picnic at noon. Hot dogs and beverages will be provided, and attendees are asked to bring their own picnic basket or a covered dish to share.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western Pennsylvania (MGA), a private, non-profit that provides treatment and support services to those with myasthenia gravis – a chronic autoimmune muscle weakness disorder. MG can strike anyone of any age and there is no known cause or cure. MGA serves approximately 500 persons annually.
